John Brown

John Brown was the best student of the 2025 Fall semester of Data 101. John distinguished himself not only by a top score in the class of 250 students but also by brilliant proposal of a new prediction challenge. Last but not least he was active in each class answeing toughest questiions and asking some great questions as well!

Here is what John has to say about himself:

Hi everyone! My name is John Brown and I am returning to rutgers after a 20 year break. Before coming to Rutgers I served in the Navy for 6 years before becoming a field service engineer. My interest in data science began when I read the Data Modeling handbook and become interested in relational databases. My favorite part of the class was writing my own prediction challenge. I have a passion for puzzles so I was excited to create one of my own that required what we had learned in order to crack it. I hope moving forward to get more opportunities to work closely with large data especially when using machine learning. I look forward to progressing further into my data science education and hope to work with Proffessor Imielinski in the future.
