“Hi everyone! My name is Tejas Krishnan, and I’m a freshman double-majoring in Data Science and Finance. I initially signed up for Data 101 to strengthen my statistics and R programming skills, but this course quickly became more than that. It teaches you how to think like a data scientist in the world of AI, using tools to analyze data, uncover hidden patterns, and make meaningful predictions.
Throughout the semester, I especially enjoyed the prediction challenges, where we were given a dataset and asked to predict a target variable based on underlying patterns. These challenges were a fun way to gain real-world experience while also strengthening my analytical thinking skills. I also appreciated Professor Imielinski’s new addition of Introduction to AI, as it taught me the core concepts behind LLMs and how they function. Thank you Professor Imielinski for an amazing semester, and best of luck to all future students!”
