Sam Yarkoni

Sam Yarkoni acheived perfect score of 100% in the entire 2026 Spring data 101 class – needless to say number 1 score not only this semester but ever. Although scoring has evolved and it is not the same, but not “losing any points” is remarkable, everyone would agree. No regrading, no partial credit. Bravo Sam!

Here is what Sam says about himself

“Hi everyone! My name is Sam and I am a current sophomore triple majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics. I initially signed up for Data 101 as a foundational major-required course to learn the basics of R and data fundamentals; however, this course taught me far more than that. Over the past semester, we learned countless career-applicable topics from creating articles with R-coded graphs to hypothesis testing and statistical significance.

I specifically enjoyed creating the “clickbait” titles for all of our statistically significant findings—it made our work seem profound and added a fun aspect to the course. Most importantly, this course taught me that data science is far from just statistics in a different form. As someone deeply interested in game theory, I enjoy viewing everyday choices through the lens of strategic decision-making and optimization. In this way, Data 101 is an unparalleled resource for students looking to broaden their experience in the multifaceted landscape of data science, with countless applications outside the classroom. I look forward to strengthening my understanding of new, complex topics using a strong foundation of data science in the future! Thank you, Professor Imielinski, for an amazing semester!”
